PRODUCT ENHANCEMENTS

None for this release.


FIXES

Some users reported high memory usage that resulted in ABENDS when 
scanning files without extensions and text files. This has been 
addressed.

NOTE:  If you continue to have a problem scanning files without 
       extensions after installing this component, you can now 
       exclude these files from the scan.

       To exclude files without extensions, follow these steps:

       1.  In the FPNAdmin graphical user interface (GUI), click the 
           ADVANCED menu. The system displays a drop-down menu.

       2.  Click GLOBAL DEFAULTS. The system displays the  
           GLOBAL DEFAULTS dialog box.

       3.  Click the EXCLUDE LIST tab.

       4.  Click ADD. The system displays the ADD ITEM dialog box.

       5.  In the ENTER EXTENSION OR PATHS TO EXCLUDE text box, type 
           a period (.), and click OK.

       6.  Click APPLY.

       7.  Select the servers on which you want the exclusion to apply, 
           and click OK.

       8.  To reload the new configuration from the .INI files, unload 
           and reload the F-PROT.NLM on each server that you selected. 


SPECIAL NOTES

INSTALLATION

This component update contains the following file:

NW05EPE1.EXE -- a self-extracting executable that contains 
the following files:

- F-PROT.NLM   - updated file.
- VSENGINE.NLM - updated file.
- INSTALL.TXT  - contains the installation instructions. 
    
This component update can be installed in two ways. First, it 
can be installed so that it is deployed automatically. Second, it can be 
manually installed. 

The following sections provide instructions for each type 
of installation.


AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS USING FPNADMIN

To automatically install the component update, follow these instructions:
     
1.  Download the component update file to a temporary directory.

2.  Go to the temporary directory containing the file.

3.  Double-click the file to extract the files that are contained 
    within it.

4.  In FPNAdmin, unload Command AntiVirus from the server by using the Advanced 
    menu's Unload CSAV for NetWare option.

    NOTE:  You can also type the following command at the NetWare console:

           csav unload <password>.


5.  From the Deploy menu select Deploy Selected Files.

6.  Specify the specific name and directory of the new F-PROT.NLM file and 
    VSENGINE.NLM file, and click OK.

7.  Reload Command AntiVirus.


This completes the installation of the component update.



MANUAL INSTALLATION ON INDIVIDUAL COMPUTERS

To manually install the component update, follow these instructions:

1.  Download the component update file to a temporary directory.

2.  Go to the temporary directory containing the component update file.

3.  Double-click the file to extract the files that are contained 
    within it.

4.  At the NetWare console, unload Command AntiVirus from the server by 
    typing the following command :

    csav unload <password>


    NOTE:  You can also use the Advanced menu's Unload CSAV for NetWare 
           option in FPNAdmin.

5.  Delete the old F-PROT.NLM and VSENGINE.NLM from your CSAV program 
    folder. The default is sys:system\f-prot.

6.  Copy the files called F-PROT.NLM and VSENGINE.NLM from the temporary 
    directory to your CSAV program folder.
 
    Choose to overwrite the existing files.

    NOTE:  You may want to store a copy of the original file elsewhere 
           in case it is necessary to roll back the update.

7.  Reload Command AntiVirus.


This completes the manual installation of the component update.
