FIXES Some users reported that the operation of Command AntiVirus on older machines is too slow. This has been fixed. SPECIAL NOTES INSTALLATION This component update contains the following file: MP02EPE1.EXE -- a self-extracting executable that contains the following files: - CSSCAN32.DLL - the updated file. - INSTALL.TXT - contains the installation instructions. This component update can be installed in two ways. First, it can be installed so that it is deployed automatically to multiple computers on a network. Second, it can be manually installed on individual computers. NOTE: After installing the component update, we recommend that you update your Command AntiVirus virus definition files. The following sections provide instructions for each type of installation. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS USING AUTOMATIC UPDATE Before beginning the installation, you will need to know the following: - The location of the CSSFILES.INI file. This file is usually found in the root of the automatic update directory that you have previously set for use with Command AntiVirus' automatic update feature. - The directory path of the "BaseDir" key that is located in the [WIN95-AntiVir] section of the CSSFILES.INI file. - The subdirectory specified by the "Compont" key located in the [WIN95-AntiVir] section of the CSSFILES.INI file. If this subdirectory exists, it is always located within the directory specified by the "BaseDir" key. If a "Compont" key does not exist, you will need to manually create a directory called "Compont". You must create this directory under the BaseDir directory. Then, add the following line under the "BaseDir" listing in CSSFILES.INI: Compont=compont 1. Download the component update file to a temporary directory. 2. Go to the temporary directory containing the file. 3. Double-click the file to extract the files that are contained within it. 4. Copy the file called CSSCAN32.DLL to the subdirectory referenced by the "Compont" key in the CSSFILES.INI file. 5. Allow Automatic Update to update the file at each login or if the user is logged on, at a preconfigured time. For example, the default time is between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. CAUTION: For the automatic update to work, the path to the remote setup (automatic update directory) must be set correctly at the client. This completes the automatic installation of the component update. MANUAL INSTALLATION ON INDIVIDUAL COMPUTERS To install the component update on an individual computer, follow these instructions: 1.
